That being said..Lily has recently started to become more interactive. She sees and recognizes toys, and has been starting to try and reach for them. We have a light up butterfly on her car seat/carrier deal that plays "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" that she will just stare at with the biggest smile on her face (sidenote: Jesse jokingly said that if he heard "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" ONE more time, he was going to throw something. So I made it play again and told him it was now the alphabet song..and after that, "Ba-Ba Black Sheep." He had to agree, and therefore, I won). The other morning, I walked into her room to get her out of her crib where she'd been babbling and just starting to get fussy and as soon as she saw me, she gave me the biggest gummy smile she could and it just made my heart melt. When your baby recognizes you, and gives you the biggest smile, all the night feedings, diapers and maybe even some frustration all become worth it.
Yesterday, Jesse, Lily and I went to a swim meet at the Y because I told my friend, Julia, that I would take pictures for her. Jesse quickly got roped into helping time the events, and while Lily was happy in an exer-saucer for awhile, I decided I didn't like leaving her in it and ended up carrying her around in a front pack for the rest of the meet.
I filled the bathtub with water tonight and sat with Lily in it to give her a bath. She was a little confused, but I think she enjoyed splashing around. Maybe she'll be a swimmer as well as a soccer player..
That's about it from here I guess..Jesse and I are in the process of making a ginerbread house: I will post pictures next time maybe!!
Ah Swim team. I miss it.
